छोटी दीवाली (Choti Diwali)-: छोटी दीपावली को नरक चतुर्दशी भी कहा जाता है। छोटी दीपावली के दिन यमराज की पूजा की जाती है जिससे उत्तम स्वास्थ्य तथा अकाल मृत्यु से बचा जा सके। नरक चतुर्दशी को रूप चतुर
दशी भी कहा जाता है। माना जाता है कि इस दिन भगवान श्री कृष्ण की पूजा करने से सौंदर्य की प्राप्ति होती है। इस दिन संध्या काल में लक्ष्मी जी को गणेश जी की मूर्ति के सामने दीप जलाकर पूजा अर्चना की जाती है ।नरक चतुर्दशी को लेकर हिंदू धर्म शास्त्रों में एक और मान्यता है कि इस दिन भगवान कृष्ण ने सत्यभामा और काली के साथ असुर नरकासुर का वध किया था। इस दिन घरों में रंगोली बनाई जाती है तथा घर की सजावट की जाती है। इस दिन कुछ लोग सुबह में आटा तेल और हल्दी का उबटन तैयार कर शरीर पर लगाते हैं तथा अपामार्ग की पत्तियां जल में डालकर स्नान करते हैं, शाम के समय मां लक्ष्मी जी और गणेश जी की आराधना कर सभी पापों से मुक्ति तथा शांति पूर्वक जीवन व्यतीत करने की कामना करते हैं।

दीपावली का त्यौहार कार्तिक मास की अमावस्या को मनाया जाता है। इस वर्ष दीपावली का त्योहार 27 अक्टूबर 2019 को मनाया जाएगा। दीपावली का त्योहार 5 दिन तक चलने वाला त्यौहार है और प्रत्येक दिन का एक अलग महत्व है। दिवाली का त्यौहार कृष्ण पक्ष की त्रयोदशी से प्रारंभ होकर कार्तिक शुक्ल द्वितीया तक चलता है। यह त्योहार परिवार में सुख समृद्धि, स्नेह, शांति तथा समस्त सुखों की प्राप्ति कराने वाला त्योहार है। दीपावली का पर्व मनाये जाने के पीछे मान्यता है कि इस दिन राम रावण का वध करके अयोध्या वापस लौटे थे। नगर वासियों ने राम, लक्ष्मण और सीता जी के आगमन की खुशी में पूरी अयोध्या को देसी घी के दीपक से दुल्हन की तरह सजाया था, तभी से दीपावली का त्यौहार मनाया जाने लगा। एक अन्य पौराणिक मान्यता के अनुसार कृष्ण पक्ष की अमावस्या को ही लक्ष्मी जी समुद्र मंथन के समय प्रकट हुई थी इसीलिए दीपावली के दिन लक्ष्मी जी की पूजा की जाती है। दीपावली के दिन लक्ष्मी जी के साथ गणेश जी, सरस्वती जी और कुबेर की पूजा की जाती है। मान्यता है कि दीपावली की रात लक्ष्मी जी पृथ्वी पर विचरण करने आती है, इसीलिए घर के सभी द्वार सजाए जाते हैं तथा उन्हें खुला रखा जाता है और लक्ष्मी जी के स्वागत के लिए कोने-कोने को दीपों से सजाया जाता है। पूजा के बाद बच्चे व बड़े घरों की छतों वह गलियों में पटाखे जलाते हैं तथा घर घर जाकर लोग मिठाइयां बांटते हैं। दिवाली बुराई पर अच्छाई की विजय का त्योहार है। इस दिन लोग सभी गिले शिकवे भुलाकर साथ में इस त्यौहार को हर्ष पूर्वक मनाते हैं।What is Goverdhan Puja and why we Do Goverdhan Puja?
